Two employees of a courier company were allegedly assaulted by three men, who also vandalised their pick-up van, following an argument in the Civil Lines area, police said on Friday.

The complainant, Mohit of Lakshmi Nagar of Haibowal Kalan, alleged that he along with his driver Deepak was going to deliver parcels to customers, which they had ordered on an e- commerce website. When they reached near a tea stall at civil lines crossing, a bike was parked on the road, which was blocking the way.
Three men were standing near the bike and the victims requested them to give way. However, the accused started arguing with him, thrashed him and his driver. The accused also vandalised his pick- up van before fleeing, Mohit said.
Sub inspector Vijay Kumar, SHO at police station Division number 8, said that the police found the registration number plate of the bike and identified two of the accused.
A case under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 334 (voluntarily causing hurt on provocation) and 506 (Criminal intimidation) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
