Chandigarh man land in soup for throwing garbage in Mohali’s territory

The garbage collectors present at the spot stopped the man, who was heading from Sector 56 side. Supervisor Sachin Kumar confronted the Chandigarh resident and told him that mixed garbage will not be accepted at the RMC point. The person was asked to collect the bag of garbage he had thrown. At this a heated argument ensued which led to a scuffle, said general secretary Pawan Godyal, Punjab Safai Mazdoor Federation.

Throwing unsegregated waste at Mohali’s garbage dumping point landed a Chandigarh residents in trouble. High drama was witnessed at resource management centre (RMC) point in Phase 6, when a resident travelling in a Mahindra Scorpio threw a unsegregated polythene bag of garbage.

Following complaint, police apprehended the offender. The person appeared at Phase 6 police station and apologised for his behaviour and promised not to make a similar mistake in future, said station incharge SI Narinder Kumar.
