A protester who had been taking part in the Qaumi Insaaf Morcha agitation at YPS Chowk since January 7 was found dead near the protest site on February 24. Police ruled out foul play and said that the 65-year-old had died of a heart attack. The man had lived with his brother?s family in Mohali and had been a participant in the one-year-long farmers? agitation at the Delhi-Haryana border. The decomposed body of another protester was found on March 24.
