MP cabinet news highlights: Mohan Yadav’s new team gets 28 new ministers

As many as 28 legislators, including former Union minister Prahlad Patel and BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, were on Monday inducted into the Madhya Pradesh cabinet led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

A total of 18 MLAs took oath as cabinet ministers, while 10 others were sworn in as ministers of state including six with independent charge.

“It is a great honour for me to work in the cabinet of CM Mohan Yadav. This is a new opportunity to serve the public. I am sure we will do great things in the future,” says Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi after taking oath as minister in the Madhya Pradesh Cabinet.

I am confident that under the leadership of CM Yadav, this government will ensure all-round development of Madhya Pradesh,” Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia posted on X.

Chaitanya Kashyap, one of the wealthiest MLAs in Madhya Pradesh representing Ratlam, possesses movable and immovable assets worth ₹294 crore. Notably, he declined the salary offered for his MLA position. He has also got place in the new cabinet.

Narayan Singh Kushwaha, an MLA from Gwalior South, has been elected four times in assembly elections since 2003. He has now taken the oath as a cabinet minister in the Mohan Yadav government.

Pradyuman Singh Tomar, starting his political journey from Congress and being an MLA from the Gwalior assembly seat, previously served as the energy minister in the Shivraj government. He now finds a place in the cabinet of the Mohan Yadav government.

Rakesh Shukla, a three-time MLA with a strong presence in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, presently holds the position of MLA from the Mehgaon seat and has been inducted as a cabinet minister.

Vishwas Sarang, who began his political career with ABVP and served as the education minister in the Shivraj government, has now taken the oath as a cabinet minister in the Mohan Yadav government of Madhya Pradesh.

Prahlad Singh Patel, a former Bharatiya Janata Party MP, was fielded in the assembly elections and, following victory, has assumed the role of a cabinet minister in the Mohan Yadav government.

Kailash Vijayvargiya is the national general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party. After winning the assembly election from Indore-1, he has now been sworn in as a cabinet minister.

Ministers who took oath as cabinet ministers were Sampatiya Uikey, Pradhuman Singh Tomar, Prahlad Singh Patel, Kailash Vijayvargiya, Kuwar Vijay Shah, Rakesh Singh, Karan Singh Verma, Uday Pratap Singh, Vishwas Sarang and Lakhan Patel.

Narendra Shivaji Patel, Pratima Bagri and Radha Singh took oath state ministers.

Today, I heartily congratulate all the friends who are taking oath as cabinet ministers, independent charges and ministers of state in the Madhya Pradesh Government. I am confident that all of you will create a new history of service to the public and progress of the state with all your strength, complete devotion and dedication,” Shivraj Singh said.

A total of 28 BJP leaders are taking oath as ministers.

• 18 leaders including Pradhuman Singh Tomar, Prahlad Singh Patel, Kailash Vijayvargiya and Vishwas Sarang will take oath as cabinet ministers.

•6 leaders will take oath as Ministers of State (Independent Charge)

• 4 leaders will take oath as state Ministers.

Oath ceremony begins

A BJP leader, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that CM Mohan Yadav’s Cabinet will have new faces and senior leaders, including members of Parliament, who successfully contested the state assembly elections. Some ministers in the previous government were also likely to be sworn in.
