Sanghi govt polytechnic head beaten up by teachers

Putting the Haryana technical education department in poor light, an ugly spat has been reported from Chaudhary Matu Ram Memorial Government Polytechnic Education Society, village Sanghi in district Rohtak, in which its principal was beaten up and held captive allegedly by a group of teachers on Monday.

According to official information, the society principal PK Jakhar was beaten up and held captive in a room of the polytechnic for over an hour by a group of teachers following which he reported the matter to the higher officials of the department as well as to the Rohtak police. There was no clear information available about the reason behind the spat.

However, taking a serious note of the incident, the financial commissioner, technical education department, Sanjeev Kaushal is said to have sent a team of department officials to take a stock of the situation and suggest suitable action against the erring staff, if any.

Sanghi is native village of chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and the society has been named after Chaudhary Matu Ram, grandfather of the chief minister.
