Taking a cue from the increased focus on the virtual interface that government departments are intent on having with the general public, the Registering and Licensing Authority (RLA), Chandigarh, will launch a new website within a week. The website will offer several new features with the primary option being of taking a mock test for a learners’ driving licence. The mock test, as it were, will carry questions related to rules and regulations of traffic and will provide the user some idea on the actual test conducted in the RLA office, before a driving licence is issued.

“The test is only a mock version and it is not necessary that the same questions will be asked in the actual test. The idea is to help the general public be aware of what they should know to become a licence holder,” said RLA incharge Kashish Mittal.

Mittal added that people would also get to know detailed information on series related to high-security registration number plates on the website. Detailed information will be made available for learning licence applicants on the process followed. “Our attempt is to make all possible information available on the website so that people do not have to wait in the queues. Officials as well as the public will gain,” he added.

The new website will also display the new design of the RCs approved by the Central government.
