Training guns on the Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate, Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Friday said that it has only been six months that Narendra Modi became a chaiwala.
"I have known Modiji for 15 years. Never in this time span has he ever mentioned that he was a 'chaiwala'. Its only since the last six months he had started selling tea, only to strike chord with the people."
Commenting on snoopgate, Shinde said: "Modi as CM was snooping on a woman. I fear if he becomes PM what will happen with women."
Shinde, who was on a personal tour to the hill state, was addressing a press conference here.
Informing about the probe into the bomb blasts that took place in Bangalore-Guwahati Express train at Chennai railway station on Thursday, the home minister said that a state investigating agency (CB CID) was probing into the incident there.
"The Tamil Nadu government has not asked for the NIA team to visit Chennai. The Central government can't send the team unless the state government asks for it. But we will send a data collection team of NIA," he said.
On the incident of violence at Kokrajhar, the home minister said that 10 companies have been sent to Assam. "It has happened against the minority. Such things should not have happened," he said.
