However, ‘The loin of Haryana’ poster comes with a disclaimer: ‘Please ignore the spelling’ says a spokesperson. Chautala wants to be seen as a lion, not the seriously funny villain, Ajit.
However, more than actors, it is singers that have made INLD’s campaign the talk of the town. While, Haryanvi folk singing star Karamvir Fauji of the ‘Tau Hatja’ fame has agreed to sing 90 songs in each constituency for INLD, Yo Yo Honey Singh’s promotional song for the party, ‘Yo Yo Gailay Nachega’, is being lapped up by young voters with nearly 9,500 views on YouTube so far.
The party has released three versions of the song, including two commercials of nearly 30 seconds each and a full song of around five minutes. The song is a medley of Yo Yo Gailay by Honey Singh and Jeetega Haryana by a folk singer.
“This the way we convey our message to the people. We have used always used songs, even for our student organisations like INSO,” said Ashwani Verma, media coordinator, INLD.
The party also has over 3,000 songs by Haryanvi folk singers that are being used extensively at rallies and public meetings. Yo Yo Honey Singh’s captive followers have also multiplied in the recent past from both urban as well as rural areas that INLD seems to be targeting through the release of this music video.
