There are over 1.7 lakh applicants for about 2,000 plots. While there are about 900 residential plots of different sizes in Pinjore and 1,100 in Karnal, there are about 900 plots in Kalanwali (Sirsa district), which were floated about six months ago.
Sharandeep Brar, administrator, HUDA, Panchkula, said though the draw of lots would be held at the HUDA headquarters in Panchkula on the scheduled dates, the proceedings would also be webcast. The draw of lots for Pinjore and Kalanwali would be held on November 21, and for Karnal plots on November 24.
According to officials, arrangements for the webcast have been made by the HUDA in the wake of a large number of applications, which made task of organising the draws of lots an uphill task for the HUDA. Earlier, even after the lots were drawn, a large number of applicants were unable to know about the fate of their applications for several days together.
Officials opine that the webcast would enable applicants to find out the status of their submitted applications.
