Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may take views from its Chandigarh workers whether they want Bollywood actor Kirron Kher as the party's candidate from the city for the upcomign Lok Sabha polls.

However, on Thursday, the actor herself denied being aware of the party's move.

Talking to HT over phone from Mumbai, Kher said neither she had approached the party, nor the party had approached her for a ticket from anywhere.

"It's news for me too. I am busy with my professional assignments. I have not even had talks with
the senior leaders of the party,"Kher said.

When asked what if the party had asked her to fight election from Chandigarh, Kher said, "Nobody has approached me so far. I will take a decision only if I am approached by the party."

Kirron, who joined the BJP in 2009, has been a vocal face on TV for the party and has also campaigned for the party across the country in the recent polls. In Chandigarh also she has been active and has been often visiting the city and other cities across Punjab. She also campaigned for the BJP during the municipal corporation elections in 2011.

Kher said though she lived in Mumbai, she belonged to Chandigarh and had fond memories of the city. When asked about her frequent visits to the city and participation in several party functions recently, she said she had travelled across the country to campaign for the BJP.

"I belong to Chandigarh and always feel at home when I am here. I wish I could visit this city more frequently. But I cannot due to my professional engagements,"she added.

During a workers convention on Wednesday, BJP had put four names, including Kher's name before the city BJP workers to have their views for the party's candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The convention that held at Punjab BJP office at Sector 37, was adjourned following chaos in the meeting by supporters from different groups.
