Tata Tiago price hiked by ₹20k, base variant gets costlier by ₹5k: Report
Before the November price rise, the ex-showroom price of Tata Tiago’s base variant was ₹5,39,900, which has now increased to ₹5,44,900.
Tata has hiked the prices of its entry level hatchback Tiago. Now buyers have to spend an additional ₹20,000. The company has made both its petrol and CNG models costlier, reports Live Hindustan.

Before the price rise, the ex-showroom price of this car’s base variant was ₹5,39,900, which has now increased to ₹5,44,900. Now its base variant is costlier by ₹5,000. The prices of its CNG variants have also been scaled up to the same amount. Its top variant, on the other hand, has become expensive by ₹8,000.

Tata Tiago NRG CNG launched
Tata has launched the CNG model of the Tiago’s NRG variant. The company launched it in two variants of XT and XZ. It is costlier by about ₹90,000 than petrol variants. Tata Tiago NRG CNG XT variant's ex-showroom price is ₹7.40 lakh and the XZ variant costs Rs. 7.80 lakh. The company has also taken care of the boot space in this CNG variant. Booking of the vehicle has started with the launch.
Tata Tiago NRG CNG Engine
In this CNG model, Tata offers a 1.2-litre petrol engine. In petrol mode, this engine produces 86 PS power and generates 113 Nm torque. With the CNG mode, its output gets lowered to 73 PS power and 95 Nm torque. It comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Tata claims that it will give mileage up to 26.49 km/kg.
Tata Tiago NRG CNG features
The feature list of the Tata Tiago NRG CNG is very similar to the Tiago NRG. It comprises a digital driver’s screen display, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a cooled glove-box. The company has provided a height adjustable driver seat in the car. Moreover, it has the fuel switch button near the steering column and ‘i-CNG badging’ at the rear.
Safety features of Tata Tiago NRG CNG
It gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD and corner stability control as safety standard. It is compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The CNG model of the car also comes with other features like corner stability controls, assist sensors for rear parking and is integrated with a rear wash wipers. In case of gas leakage, the car can automatically switch from CNG to Petrol as it comes embedded with i-CNG technology.
