Last week at the Annual General Meeting, RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani had announced that any customer with an Aadhaar card can walk out of a Jio store with a working connection within 15 minutes, September 5 onwards.The highlight of the speech was free voice calls for Jio customer and zero roaming charges across India.
This explained the crowd that had gathered at Reliance Digital stores across the capital.
At the Reliance Digital Xpress in Greater Kailash I, the store kept reassuring them that SIMs will arrive only at 1 pm. However, by 1 pm the store was with over 100 people jostling for their space. No queues; no security guards to manage the crowd; just chaos.
