The date was September 24, 2016 - a few days before a campaign by Hindu activists forced Nawazuddin Siddiqui to pull out of the Ramleela programme in his native town. Brunch spent a day with the actor as he spoke about his deep roots in the small Uttar Pradesh village, and its rural environs.
