Book lovers in Gurgaon get their own BYOB club
Take that favourite book of yours this Sunday, as BYOB (Bring Your Own Book) club is here with its Gurgaon chapter.
Want to be lost in the world of books? Bring Your Own Book Club has made its way to Gurgaon, after being introduced in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kochi. The club urges people to each bring their own book, cultivating a habit of reading while also encouraging an exchange of ideas.

Formed in Delhi in August 2015, and after making its way to other cities, the community is ready with its first Gurgaon meet this Sunday. Nidhi Srivastava, founder of the club, says, “We’ve had people coming from Gurgaon at the Delhi meet for some time. The response has been humbling from Gurgaon members, which is the reason why we decided to have a meet up especially for members of Gurgaon. It’ll make it so much more convenient for Gurgaon people then to come to Delhi every time. Our first Gurgaon meet up is on May 22 (Sunday), at The Wishing Chair, 3pm.We are hoping for a bi-monthly meet in the city.”

The group attracts a diverse set of readers ranging from students, working professionals to senior citizens, where each member can bring a book of their own choice. A regular session lasts for three hours followed by snacks. “Everybody gets to talk about their choice of book. It’s a very informal gathering which creates an interesting dialogue. We often meet in people’s home; this is the first time we are doing it in a café. It’s a great way for discovering new books to read. People also borrow, lend books to each other,” says Nidhi.
