The Warrior taught me the art of simplicity: Irrfan Khan
The actor says working in the British film, The Warrior, helped him understand the importance of detail in filmmaking.
Actor Irrfan impressed critics with his phenomenal performance in the movie, Inferno which has proved to be one of his career’s best. While Inferno was a huge milestone in his career, those close to him say that the actor’s journey to reach where he is today, has been equally amazing.

A source reveals, “There was a time when directors did not accept Irrfan’s unique way of acting. Consequentially, due to lack of work, he would even accept roles that didn’t last longer than a minute or two. Now, when he is a superstar and has been given the tag of one of the best actors in the country, he is flooded with offers. But he still feels that the bad phase he had to go through was an equally important part of his life.” Irrfan’s life changed when he was offered the British film The Warrior (2001).
“The movie taught him so much that he feels that the film gave him the long-awaited break in cinema after his career in television,” adds the source.
Talking about his experience of working in the film, Irrfan says, “The Warrior taught me the art of simplicity. The film helped me understand that the minute details that goes in films, matters a lot. I still have the black kurta in which I auditioned for for the film.”
