Student of The Year 2 song Mumbai Dilli Di Kudiyaan: Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday, Tara Sutaria star in silliest song of the year

Student of The Year 2’s new song Mumbai Dilli Di Kudiyaan is out. It has film’s three leads -- Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday, Tara Sutaria -- showing off their dance skills to rather asinine lyrics.

The makers of Student of The Year 2 have released the second song from the film, Mumbai Dilli Di Kudiyaan, and it is in tune with the mood set by the film’s promos. Titled Mumbai Dilli Di Kudiyaan, the song is picturised on newcomers Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria, along with Tiger Shroff.

Vishal and Shekhar have composed the music for the song that has been penned down by Vayu. Dev Negi, Payal Dev and Vishal Dadlani have crooned the peppy number while Remo D’Souza had choreographed the song.

At a recent press event, Tiger had asked audience to not bring along their thinking caps and the song goes a long way to underline that. If the lyrics make no sense, sample this -- ‘Dil mein bhara hai aise disco, paani pyaara ho jaise fish ko’. Here’s another one: ‘Main nai rukdi, mukdi hai battery mere phone diyaa.” This is after you look beyond the insomniac women that apparently populate Delhi and Mumbai.

Perhaps the makers were so sure of Tiger’s gravity-defying moves, they thought no one would actually focus on the words. The song has Tiger’s dancing skills as its USP and the ladies, too, accompany him, as do hundreds of background dancers. The setting looks like a wedding scene with everyone wearing traditional attire beside what looks like a pool inside a farmhouse. They are also grape stomping, but well.

Sharing the first look picture from the song, Tiger had earlier tweeted, The first look of #MumbaiDilliDiKudiyaan, by YOU ALL! Song out tomorrow! @karanjohar @apoorvamehta18 #Tara @ananyapandayy @punitdmalhotra @VishalDadlani @ShekharRavjiani @DevNegiLive @iPayalDev @DharmaMovies @foxstarhindi @ZeeMusicCompany @SOTYOfficial #SOTY2.”

The film’s first song, The Jawani song, was released last week. It was a remake of Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani from the 1972 film Jawani Diwani and the remixed number has received approval from none other than Randhir Kapoor, who featured in the original song. “I feel there is no harm in recreating songs. The original track came out four decades ago. Many youngsters were not aware of the song, but today, everyone knows it because of the remix. [After the redux version released], they all went back and searched for the original song on the Internet. I haven’t seen the song, but I have heard it; it has a nice tune. Also, Karan has officially bought the rights of the number. So, his intentions are honest,” he told Mid Day.

Directed by Punit Malhotra, Student of the Year 2 is a sequel to Karan Johar’s 2012 hit Student of The Year, which marked the Bollywood debut of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. Student of the Year 2 is set to hit theatres on May 10.
