Street Dancer 3D vs Panga box office day 4: Varun-Shraddha’s film earns Rs 45.88 cr, Kangana-starrer struggles as Tanhaji approaches Rs 250 cr
Street Dancer 3D vs Panga box office: Both films witnessed a major drop on Monday. While Varun Dhawan’s film collected around Rs 4.65 cr, Kangana Ranaut’s film dropped to around Rs 1.65 crore.
Street Dancer 3D, starring Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi, witnessed a drop in box office numbers on Monday, after making Rs 41.23 crore over the weekend. The film had released alongside Kangana Ranaut’s Panga, which suffered a similar fate.
The collections of Street Dancer 3D fell by almost 55% on Monday, dropping to approximately Rs 4.65 crore. The Remo D’Souza film now stands at a total of around Rs 45.88 crore. Sharing the box office collections of the film, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, “Street Dancer 3D slips on Day 4... Decent hold in mass belt/single screens... Metros/multiplexes go downhill... Trending much lower than ABCD2 [2015]... Fri 10.26 cr, Sat 13.21 cr, Sun 17.76 cr, Mon 4.65 cr. Total: Rs 45.88 cr. India biz.”
Panga also registered a fall of around 40% on Monday, with collections of just Rs 1.65 crore. Its four-day total now stands at Rs 16.56 crore. “Panga dips on Day 4... Was important to hold at Day 1 levels for a respectable Week 1 total... Unable to improve its BO prospects beyond select metros... Weak in mass circuits... Fri 2.70 cr, Sat 5.61 cr, Sun 6.60 cr, Mon 1.65 cr. Total: Rs 16.56 cr. India biz,” Taran wrote on Twitter.

Calling Panga a subject-driven film, film exhibitor Akshay Rathi had told Hindustan Times ahead of release, “Kangana is a great performer but Panga is not a film that normally gets a big opening. It is subject-driven and will be one of those films that grow with the word of mouth and sustain themselves in the long run.”
Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji continues to dominate the box office even in its third week. The film collected Rs 4.03 crore on Monday, which takes its total to Rs 228.96 crore. It may soon cross the Rs 250 crore mark if it continues to maintain its momentum.
Sharing the collections of the film, Taran tweeted, ”Tanhaji continues to pose tough competition to new releases... Crosses *lifetime biz* of Chennai Express... Will cross Kick [today] and Simmba [coming days]... [Week 3] Fri 5.38 cr, Sat 9.52 cr, Sun 12.58 cr, Mon 4.03 cr. Total: Rs 228.96 cr. India biz.”
Confirming Tanhaji is a big competitor for Street Dancer 3D and Panga, film trade analyst Girish Johar had told HT, “Tanhaji is very strong in Mumbai and Gujrat circuit. But if the two films get a positive word of mouth, they will definitely get the first preference at the theatres. But if any of the two fails to impress, Tanhaji can gain in that scenario.”
