Shameful, inhumane: Bollywood reacts to attack on Tanzanian woman

While Hrithik Roshan termed the attack on Tanzanian woman in Bengaluru ‘shameful’, Farhan Akhtar said ‘no apology is enough’ for the horror the girl went through.

In a shocking incident in Bengaluru, a 21-year-old Tanzanian girl was beaten, stripped and paraded naked by a mob, in reaction to a Sudanese national running over a woman half an hour earlier.

The mob assaulted the woman, who was not related to the Sudanese national, and her friends and set their car ablaze. When she went to the police station to register a complaint, she was turned away and asked to produce the man responsible for the accident.

It led to outrage across the nation and Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter to condemn the brutal incident. While Hrithik Roshan termed the episode “shameful”, Farhan Akhtar said “no apology is enough” for the horror the girl went through. Other celebs also shared their chagrin.
