Shahid Kapoor has been working rather intently on his next film, Kabir Singh and has been sharing pictures from the film’s shoot. See his new pic here.

Shahid Kapoor has been quietly working on his next film, Kabir Singh, a remake of 2017’s hit Telugu film Arjun Reddy. His last film Batti Gul Meter Chalu turned out to be a dud at the box office, which is why he could be working intently on this one.

The actor has been sharing pictures from the film’s shoot through the last couple of months. On Thursday, he shared a fresh picture, where he can be seen preparing for a shot. From his caption, we gather it is for a critical moment from the film.

Sharing it, he wrote: “Prepping for the rage. #kabirsingh.”

For the uninitiated, Arjun Reddy is the story of a passionate and brilliant medical student who falls in love with a fellow student only to get separated from her as she is married off to another person of her family’s choice. The separation doesn’t go down well with him and he sets out of a path of self destruction, plunging deep into an abyss of drugs and sex.

Shahid has said that recreating a film which is still fresh in people’s minds is a demanding job.

“Creating a remake is damn tough. You have loved it for what it was but you can’t go out there and copy it. It has to be a rediscovery,” he told PTI.

“The original was Arjun Reddy, based in Hyderabad and Bangalore. This is Kabir Singh, which is based in Delhi and Mumbai. May be Arjun and Kabir are cousins but they are not the same person. My journey is only to find Kabir Singh.”

The film, also featuring Kiara Advani, is scheduled to release on June 21. Sandeep Vanga, who directed the original, is helming this one too.
