In a new poster of Sanjay Dutt biopic, Sanju, Ranbir Kapoor looks like a carbon copy of Sanjay Dutt when he walked out of Pune’s Yerwada Jail in 2016.
Staying true to his promise, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani shared a new poster of his upcoming Sanjay Dutt biopic, Sanju, on Monday morning and Ranbir Kapoor looks every bit like the Khalnayak actor when he completed his prison sentence and walked out of Pune’s Yerwada Jail in 2016. Dutt was sentenced to five years imprisonment by the Supreme Court for illegal possession of weapons after the bloody Mumbai bomb blasts, India’s biggest terror strike till date which left 257 dead.

Hirani shared the poster and tweeted, “Ranbir as #Sanju! When he came out of Jail in 2016. Watch his complete story on June 29. #RanbirKapoor #RajkumarHiraniFilms @VVCFilms @foxstarhindi.”
Sanju teaser: Let Ranbir Kapoor take you through Sanjay Dutt’s life
The director had promised fans late Sunday, “Starting tomorrow, I’m going to put out posters and production stills of Ranbir as Sanju. A new one everyday. Hope you like it. #RanbirKapoor #RajkumarHiraniFilms @VVCFilms @foxstarhindi.”
Ranbir, who plays Sanjay Dutt in the biopic, has said he enjoyed playing Dutt as Munnabhai. “It was difficult to play was the young Sanju. There were more faces we had to show; the drugs and his mother’s loss. The fun was the Munna Bhai phase,” he said at the film’s teaser launch.
