Pati Patni Aur Woh box office collection day 2: Kartik Aaryan’s film makes Rs 21.43 cr, eyes an impressive opening weekend
Pati Patni Aur Woh box office collection day 2: The Kartik Aaryan film has shown impressive growth and has picked up Rs 12.33 crore on day 2. Panipat remains low in collections.
Pati Patni Aur Woh, starring Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar, is having a golden run at the box office. After a big opening, the second day too, was impressive. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh, tweeting the day 2 numbers, said that the film had made Rs 12.33 crores on Saturday, taking the overall total to Rs 21.43 crore.

He wrote: “#PatiPatniAurWoh hits the bull’s eye... Witnesses all-round growth on Day 2... Wins over youngistaan as well as family audience, metros as well as mass markets... Eyes ₹ 36 cr [+/-] total in its *opening weekend*... Fri 9.10 cr, Sat 12.33 cr. Total: ₹ 21.43 cr. India biz.” He predicts that the film could end up making Rs 36 crore in its opening weekend.
This has taken the overall total after two days to Rs 21.43 crores. Sharing the opening collection of the film, Taran has written on Twitter, “#PatiPatniAurWoh is excellent on Day 1... This, despite competing with another biggie [#Panipat], which resulted in screens/shows getting divided... Expect solid growth on Day 2 and 3... Emerges #KartikAaryan’s biggest opener... Fri ₹ 9.10 cr. #India biz.”

Panipat, meanwhile, showed a a slight growth on day 2, earning Rs 5.78 crore. Taran tweeted to say that while the film had shown a slight improvement, it needed cover lost ground. He wrote on Sunday, “#Panipat shows an upward trend on Day 2... #Maharashtra [#Mumbai circuit especially] is performing best... Needs to cover lost ground on Day 3, especially in circuits with strong presence of multiplexes... Fri 4.12 cr, Sat 5.78 cr. Total: ₹ 9.90 cr. #India biz.”
Panipat opened poorly on Friday, collecting only Rs 4.12 crores in earnings. The run-time of the film (close to three hours), he added, could have affected multiplex business.
Earlier, sharing the day 1 figures of Panipat, Taran had tweeted, “#Panipat records low numbers on Day 1... Reports [word of mouth] are positive and its biz, hopefully, should see a turnaround on Day 2 and 3... Fri ₹ 4.12 cr [2395 screens]. #India biz... Showcasing at multiplexes affected due to excessive run time [close to 3 hours].”
Pati Patni Aur Woh is a Mudassar Aziz directorial and is a remake of hit 1978 film of the same name, starring Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta.
Panipat is director Ashutosh Gowariker’s retelling of an important event in Indian history - the Third Battle of Panipat fought in 1761 between the Maratha forces led by Sadashivrao Bhau and Afghan king, Ahmad Shah Abdali, who was aided by Afghan Rohilla and the Nawab of Awadh.
