Actor Nora Fatehi talks about her recent hit track Dilbar and how she is not worried about not doing a lead role in Bollywood films often.

Nora Fatehi’s sizzling belly dance moves in sync with the melodious tune and lyrics of Dilbar, the ’90s hit song starring Sushmita Sen, were reason enough for its recent rehash version to strike a chord with music buffs.

Actor-dancer Nora, who also choreographed the song, to be featured in John Abraham-starrer Satyameva Jayate, says, “I’ve always enjoyed dancing, and I train myself in it. I try to hone my skills whenever I get the chance.”

She earlier impressed with her dance in songs such as Manohan (Baahubali) and Rock The Party (Rocky Handsome). Asked when can one see her take on Bollywood films as a lead actor, Nora says, “I’m, of course, on a lookout for good roles but I don’t have any qualms of giving hit tracks in someone else’s film. This song became popular overnight. I’d rather give one hit song than a flop film. I love what I do and I take projects as they come.”

An Indo-Moroccan-Canadian actor, Nora made her entry in Hindi cinema with Roar: Tigers of Sundarbans (2014). She eventually worked in Telugu and Malyalam cinema as well. Did she ever face any difficulties in this journey due to her ethnicity? The actor replies in negative.

“I never felt like an outsider in the industry. People value hard work, and whatever work I have done so far, people have made me feel welcome and appreciated my work. Look at [actor] Jacqueline Fernandez [who hails from Sri Lanka]. She is also not from India but people love her,” says Nora.
