Actor Sonakshi Sinha says if anyone tries to get intrusive and talk about her personal life, she will not spare them.

Sonakshi Sinha spares no one. Whether it’s fans or gossipmongers, the actor ensures she puts forth her stand and does not let anyone gossip at the expense of her personal life.

“People get very intrusive sometimes. They see pictures and they like to put two and two equals forty four. Nothing makes it right,” says Sona, reacting to engagement rumours after her pictures with rumoured boyfriend, celebrity manager Bunty Sajdeh, went viral recently.

The 29-year-old had recently slammed a newspaper report on Twitter.

The actor says there’s so much about celebs that’s already out there for public to know and talk about, and warns: “My relationship status is no one’s business, so don’t poke your nose into it.”

More than rumours, social media seems to have become an easy way for actors to clarify things for the world to know. “Sometimes I don’t even bother to clarify but if you try attack my friends or family, that’s when I decide to put my foot down and say harsh things,” she responds.

With Bollywood stars becoming too active on social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram, it’s only obvious for rumours to float faster than before. However Sinha feels it’s a medium to connect with fans directly and know what they likes and dislikes. “You have the freedom to share what you want, because a lot of stuff that comes out in regular media sometimes is not even true, or is exaggerated or underplayed. So here, we can put out exactly what we want and how much we want,” she says.

Her latest film carries a tagline, ‘No one will be forgiven’. Does Sonakshi use this motto in real life too? “I’m a very forgiving person but if anybody wrongs me or my loved ones, I make sure they are taught a lesson,” says Sona, who has dealt with a lot of body shaming comments, and her weight loss journey only shows the conviction she’s put in her work. Not bothered by these anymore, she says, “Nobody should be able to tell you how you are supposed to look. I have never given anyone a chance to point a finger at my work or anything else I do. So what else they can talk about.”

Having acted in 14 films in six years, the actor feels the way she looks has only been an advantage that got her more work. “I have certain Indianness in me, which has worked very well in my favour. I have always been projected with a very healthy body image,” she says.
