MS Dhoni The Untold Story trailer: This is Sushant Singh’s masterstroke

The first trailer of MS Dhoni:The Untold Story was finally released on Thursday evening at an unveiling ceremony across three cities — Delhi, Mumbai and Jalandhar. Cricketer MS Dhoni and actor Sushant Singh Rajput were present at the trailer launch in Jalandhar.

Sushant Singh Rajput, known for his role in Kai Po Che, plays Dhoni in the film, supported by Kiara Advani who plays wife Sakshi.

The much anticipated film apparently follows Dhoni’s life story before he became the raging success that he is. The film’s catchline says as much: “The man you know... The journey you don’t.”

Neeraj Pandey helms this biopic which also stars Anupam Kher as Dhoni’s dad, Bhumika Chawla as his sister and Rajesh Sharma as his coach.

The trailer is a tad bit long -- it runs for three and a half minutes -- but Sushant and the other actors bring an earthiness to it that make it worth our while. From a railway ticket collector to international sports star, the movie is almost a journey for the audience as well.

Produced by Fox Star Studios and Inspired Entertainment, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story has been shot extensively in Ranchi.

It is slated to hit theatres on September 30.
