Manish Paul on Bollywood’s bloated egos: Actors feel I’ll upstage them

W e all know that actor Manish Paul can bring the house down with his sense of humour and wit on stage, however, not many know that this often makes other actors insecure. And spilling the beans on this is Paul himself. “When I am on stage, I am a different person altogether, and the actors who are supposed to share the stage with me think that I might upstage them,” he laughs.

However, the 34-year-old won’t take names.“I don’t share cold vibes with anyone but a few actors become uneasy sharing the stage with me. I can sense that. But nobody has directly told me this ever,” he says.

Paul shares that he has personally heard star managers ask for more stage time for their stars if he, too, is on stage. “A lot of times it happens...I am hosting a show and I get to know that some actor’s manager has said that if Manish is there (on stage) we would like to take ‘heavy’ lines. That never bothers me. I tell them to take whatever lines they want to take. I always remember what my mother said, she told me that no one can take away somebody’s talent. If a person is talented, that is going to show no matter what,” says the actor who will next be seen in Tere Bin Laden: Dead or Alive.
