Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year 2 delayed, will now release on May 10, 2019

Karan Johar knows exactly when to release a film. His ambitious project Student Of The Year 2 has now been pushed to the summer of 2019. It was earlier expected to hit the theatres on November 23 this year. On Monday, Karan tweeted, “There is a NEW DATE for #SOTY2!!!! The admissions are now in summer 2019!!! Watch this space!”

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the new release date of the film.

While Student Of The Year launched Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra, the second installment will mark the debut of Tara Sutaria and Ananya Pandey. Tiger Shroff will be playing the lead in SOTY 2.

The first film, directed by Karan Johar, was released in 2012, but he is not directing the second instalment. He has passed the baton to Punit Malhotra who has directed films like I Hate Luv Storys and Gori Tere Pyaar Mein.

Ananya is the daughter of actor Chunky Panday and his wife Bhavana. She is 19-year-old and has frequently made news in the last two years with her appearances at celebrity parties and in their social media photos. Tara has been a part of a few sitcoms including The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir, which was broadcast on Disney India. The show was a Hindi adaptation of the show Suite Life of Zack and Cody.
