“Emraan has had many back-to-back hits recently. Working with both him and Sagarika (Ghatge) was brilliant. I mean it when I say that they are thorough professionals and know the role that they are portraying,” says Dhupia.
The actor is also excited about her upcoming Punjabi movie, Rangeele, and says she wants to do more Punjabi films. “I’m so pleased with Jimmy (Shergill) giving me the film. Punjabi cinema has taken over seven countries. I feel it is about food, song, dance and humour. Being a thorough bred Punjabi, I’d love to do more such films,” she says.
The Delhi girl also has a lot to say about the city. “I love Delhi for I was brought up here. And be it the wide roads or the Delhi food, I love it all,” says Dhupia. Coming from a defence background, the actor has memories of roaming about in the Delhi Cantt. “I used to love the golgappas at Gopinath Bazaar there. I also used to go to DSOI (Defence Services Officer’s Institute) in Dhaula Kuan. In fact, even now when I’m in Delhi, my father makes it a point that we all go and spend some quality time there.”
And, what’s her view of the ‘rowdy’ city crowd? “Delhi is unsafe, but that doesn’t mean that every guy in the city is disrespectful. Mumbai is the only city in India that let’s you enjoy your independence and where you are not pestered by anyone. I love Mumbai because of that,” she says.
