Actor Deepak Dobriyal, who has been a part of films such as Dabanng 2, Tanu Weds Manu and Omkara, feels stuck in the image established by his character ‘Pappi ji’ in Tanu Weds Manu, and wants to change it. “The one thing that hovers in my mind is the image of ‘Pappi ji’ that I have established in the minds of masses post the success of Tanu weds Manu. It bothers me this much that I am all set to go out with my roles in order to change the image,” he says.
Talking about his character in the upcoming film, Chor Chor Super Chor, which is scheduled to release on August 2, Deepak says, “The film showcases some extremely smart conning moves and I play an extremely smart conman, who belongs to a very close knit family”.
He adds, “The later half of the film focuses on my transformation, when I decide to follow the right path in life. Then, a twist comes in later that forces me to get back to what I was best at, conning.”
Ask him about one role that’s closest to his heart and Deepak says, “The role I played in Daayen Ya Baayen, as Ramesh Majila. It’s one character I could relate myself the most to.” Commenting on the bonding with his co-star Priya in Chor Chor Super Chor, he says, “We had a very good time where we played pranks on each other... it was fun”.
