I don’t want to be a glam doll. It doesn’t appeal to me: Huma Qureshi
Huma Qureshi talks about different roles, networking in the industry and more.
Huma Qureshi has essayed unconventional roles in the beginning of her career. The actor will next be seen in her debut international project. Apparently, the actor is happy to taking up more mainstream projects. “I am a product of ’90s movies. I grew up watching ’90s films and wanted to become an actor because that was the phase of cinema I enjoyed,” says Huma.

But she makes sure she takes up a part only if it convinces her as an actor. “I need to have something to do,” says the actor, adding, “I want to be able to add to the narrative. I don’t want to be the glam doll, that doesn’t appeal to me at all. For me, it could be any genre, any medium and language, but it has to be something worth my time. I am not in a hurry to be number one. I don’t want to be in the rat race in that sense,” says the Jolly LLB 2 actor.
Ask her about the importance of networking in the competitive showbiz, and she says, “I just know that if your work is good, good work follow. I don’t believe in networking and s**king up to anyone. When I am not working I am just doing my own thing. I am off the radar.”

On the significance of public relations (PR) in today’s day and age, the young actor says PR, management, and agencies et al. are only there to handle your work. “Work, nobody can create for you. Actors have to create that for themselves. For example, if I can’t dance, I can have the best PR agency saying Huma Qureshi is the best dancer in the world. But if I can’t dance, then it is not going to help my case. You have to be good at what you do,” she states.
The actor was last seen in The State Vs Jolly LLB 2 that co-starred Akshay Kumar, and will next be seen in Gurinder Chadha helmed Viceroy’s House.
