Here’s what Irrfan Khan will be doing on Children’s Day this year
Irrfan Khan supports content for kids by associating with the Children’s Film Festival that will kick off on November 14.
Irrfan Khan is known for his nuanced performances in films such as Talvar (2015) and Piku (2015). The actor is now supporting a special initiative for children.
A source says, “Our population consists of a great share of children below the age of 16 years. But, there is a lack of content and content creators for this age group. Irrfan wants to send across a message for more content to be created for Indian kids. He has joined hands with the Children’s Film Society, India, for a film festival targeted at kids, which will be hosted in his home town, Jaipur (Rajasthan).”
The 2nd National Children’s Film Festival will kick off on November 14 — which marks Children’s Day — and ends on November 16. The actor took some time out especially for this initiative before beginning the shoot of his next project.
When contacted, Irrfan confirmed the news, and said, “Globally, there is a huge focus on content for kids, but there’s a significant lack of such content in India. Being an actor, it’s important we support such initiatives as much as we can. We hope that people take note of it and get encouraged to be at the helm of creating more content for this kind of audience.”
The actor was last seen on the screen in Madaari and Inferno.
