He might be turning 74 today, but there is clearly, no slowing down or stopping actor Amitabh Bachchan from dishing out superlative performances in each of his films. . Year after year, he manages to mesmerise audiences with his gritty performances. Be it playing a 12 year-old boy with progeria in Paa or 70 year old Bhashkor Banerjee in Piku, Big B manages to fit into every role with absolute ease. His last release Pink, saw him playing a lawyer who takes it upon himself to make sure justice is served to three girls after a nasty incident turns their lives upside down. While he had a party when he turned 70, this time, he will be meeting fans and spending time with family. “I complete 74 on the 11th of October and step into my 75th. A lot of people believe in birthday resolutions but Bachchan isn’t the one to wait for a special occasion to resolve to do something new. “I have never understood the philosophy, or that misguided trait of waiting for a year to make a resolution. Why must time be given to a resolve? Once you have resolved something, do it immediately, why wait! I wish to learn some languages, and to be able to play a musical instrument. And all this is already under progress,” he explains. He also recalls that for his last birthday, his granddaughter Aaradhya had gifted him a hand-made greeting card.

As we talk about birthday plans, we ask him about a piece of information we came across recently about him singing a song that would be dedicated to the martyrs of Uri attacks. “A distinguished Member of Parliament, who I met at a social event, casually mentioned that I should. There was and is no confirmation of it. But if asked, I would willingly make an attempt”, he says.
