Harshvardhan Kapoor to play shooter Abhinav Bindra on screen?

Harshvardhan Kapoor, who began his acting career this year with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Mirzya, is now shooting for his next project, director Vikramaditya Motwane’s Bhavesh Joshi. A source tells HT Café that the actor is also being considered for a biopic on professional shooter and Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra.

“Despite his debut film generating a lukewarm response at the box office, the actor has bagged films with celebrated film-makers. Harshvardhan decided to follow Mirzya with Bhavesh Joshi, as opposed to mainstream song and dance fare. The actor has also signed for director Sriram Raghvan’s next project,” says a source.

“Besides these films, the actor is one of the front runners for the titular role in a biopic on Abhinav Bindra. The film will be produced by Vishal Bhardwaj and its cast is now being finalised. However, the actor is yet to sign the movie,” the source adds.

Harshvardhan was not available for a comment.
