The first song of Udta Punjab, Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh’s forthcoming film on drug addiction among youngsters in Punjab, is adding to the pre-release buzz around the film. Titled Chitta Ve, the song’s lyrics are unusual (read weird), and is filmed on Shahid Kapoor, who plays rockstar Tommy Singh in the film.

The peppy number, written by Shellee and composed by Amit Trivedi, is sung by Babu Haabi , Shahid Mallya and Bhanu Prtap.

Directed by Abhishek Choubey, Udta Punjab deals with the problem of drug addiction among Punjab’s youth. Kareena Kapoor plays a doctor in the film, and Alia is a Bihari migrant who was a one-time hockey player forced to work in the fields after her father’s death in Punjab.

Presented by Balaji Motion pictures and produced by Phantom Pictures, Udta Punjab is set to hit theaters on June 17.
