There was a time when Bollywood’s original bubbly girl, Juhi Chawla, could walk away with the ‘most charming smile’ award without any fight. As she turns 48 on Friday, here’s a surprise gift for all her fans. Did you know that before she made her debut with a dud called Sultanat in 1986, Juhi was a well-known face in the glamour industry? She was crowned Miss India in 1984, and then she went to participate in the Miss Universe contest.

She didn’t make it to the top 10, but before that she made sure that the Indian community in America got a chance to celebrate their ethnicity.
