Brahmastra: Ranbir Kapoor practices ‘Shiva sessions’ in Germany, Alia Bhatt records it. Watch

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor starrer Brahmastra is still in the process of filming. Director Ayan Mukerji on Wednesday shared a video clip from last Saturday showing Ranbir practising moves from a movement and culture expert group from Germany, Ido Portal.

Sharing the video, Ayan wrote: “Shiva Sessions Last Saturday, Berlin. Prep work for our next shooting schedule is on... and once again, our path led us to one of our most special collaborators on this journey - Ido Portal. (More on his role in helping Ranbir build his performance in another post...) For now, some random moments from our weekend brainstorming session with Ido... #preplife #traveldiaires #brahmastra.”

In the video, Ranbir can be seen interacting with another person while Alia stands in one corner and records it on her phone. Brahmastra is a three-part fantasy trilogy in which Ranbir will be seen playing Shiva while Alia will be seen playing a character called Isha. Ayan decided to shift the release of Brahmastra from the initial announced date (Christmas) as work on the film is yet to be completed. The filmmaker had announced it in a long and emotional note last month.

On Mahashivaratri in March this year, Ayan alongwith Ranbir and Alia were in Prayagraj’s Sangam for the launch of the film’s logo. Brahmastra borrows heavily from Hindu mythology and in the film too, it is the mother of all weapons that is likely to be the focus. Speaking about it to Mid Day, Alia had said: “Ranbir and I have always maintained that Brahmastra is not a superhero film; it is a mystical fantasy drama. There is no reference [for comparison]. It’s a new film that is emerging from our industry. It could be a film that will make this industry proud and put us on a global pedestal. I don’t want to blow my own trumpet, but there’s immense faith in Ayan’s vision.”

Reports suggest that Alia and Ranbir are on a vacation in Europe. They will soon head for Lake Como. Quoting a source, a Filmfare report said: “Both have them have been keeping extremely busy and were planning a holiday for a while now. This looked like the perfect time and Ranbir and Alia will soon be off to Lake Como as they love its scenic beauty. The two plan to go see various places across Europe. Post this holiday, they will get back to work.”

Alia was spotted leaving for London with Ayan earlier this month to spend time with her sister Shaheen who is studying there. Ayan was to work on the music of the film with music director Pritam.
