Janhvi Kapoor confessed that negative reviews of Dhadak left her in tears while she celebrated every good word. Here are the highlights from Dhadak success bash.

The team of Dhadak is on cloud nine these days. Their film has passed the first week test and is still running to packed houses. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the film is inching closer to the Rs 50 crore mark at the box office. So far, it has earned Rs 48.01 cr in India.

That called for a party as it’s an impressive show by all commercial standards. While Dhadak was the launch of Janhvi Kapoor, it was Ishaan Khatter’s overall second film and first in Bollywood. Apart from the leads, the success party saw the film’s producer Karan Johar and its director Shashank Khaitan. Photographer Manav Mangalani shared some pictures and videos from the event.

At the success party, Janhvi talked about how she felt upon the release of Dhadak. As per a report in Pinkvilla, Janhvi said, “Speaking for myself, I think I have a long way to go. I don’t think one film can mean success. Even though it means the world to me, I still feel that there is a lot more than I need to do and aspire to do, to earn love and affection and acceptance from people. I know that I need to do a lot more to earn that. But it is a stepping stone.”

Janhvi also said that she cried after reading unfavourable reviews. She said, “I did a yay 100 times when they praised me and cried in the bathroom when it was a nay.”

On Wednesday, Janhvi took to Instagram and thanked her fans for the overwhelming support. She wrote, “Thankful, grateful, and blessed, for all of you, and because of all of you. #Dhadak.”

Janhvi also shared a fun video of Shashank singing Channa Mereya from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Dhadak is the Hindi remake of Marathi film Sairat, directed by Nagraj Manjule. The film was hailed for its gritty take on the caste system prevalent in India.

The remake, however, is more like an urban take on a similar problem. The critics praised Ishaan and Janhvi’s acting though.
