After being trolled, Mahira Khan apologises for missing Pakistan elections. Read her emotional note
Mahira Khan missed Wednesday’s general elections in Pakistan and was heavily trolled for it. She has now responded to the criticism.
Pakistani actor Mahira Kha, who was seen with Shah Rukh Khan in Raees, has written a long post after facing criticism for missing voting in Wednesday’s Pakistan elections. She says it happened due to prior work commitments.
In an Instagram post, Mahira wrote, “As much as I want to be there tomorrow, it is unfortunate that I cannot be. There was absolutely no way to delay my work commitment which was scheduled months in advance, I tried my best. And so with a heavy heart I will not be voting this year. I urge all of you to get out and vote!! May this year bring the change we all have been waiting to see. InshAllah. Pakistan zindabad!!! #nayapakistan.”

Actually, Mahira was at an undisclosed location with her son. She had posted a picture from the venue on social media and that started the backlash.
In the elections, Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf emerged as the biggest party. However, he hasn’t been given the country’s command yet.
Mahira was in another controversy some months ago when her pictures with Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor surfaced online. She was smoking in those pictures and that prompted many social media users to say nasty things about her choices.
Mahira, later, addressed them and said, “It is my personal life and it is very normal for a boy and girl to hang out.”
