Implementation belies MP CM’S claims

Class 12 passed Meena Jharia is a daughter of a labourer. Jharia’s brother left his study as their father can’t afford expenses of the study.

But, Jharia, who wants to become a doctor, was optimistic towards her future as chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan assured students that the government will give guarantee to the education loan of students.

But, when she applied for a loan, her application was rejected many times.

She came to the convention from Jabalpur with her father with a hope to get some help from ‘Mamaji’ but nothing happened.

Jharia said, “There is no doubt that our chief minister is a well-wisher of the youth, but his schemes are not being implemented by his officers. I have been trying to take an education loan for the past one year to become a doctor but no one is supporting me.”

Despite a lot of announcements and assurance by the chief minister, girls are not feeling secure for their future as they are not getting benefits of several schemes of the government.

Like Jharia, a large number of students and youth came to ‘Youth Convention’ to apprise chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan that his announcements are not being implemented in right scripts by their officers. Girls are not apparently getting education loans. Similarly, loans are not being sanctioned to women who want to set up their own businesses.

A 14-year-old girl, who is hopeful of getting education loan to continue her study, came from Indore with her mother and sister in the Youth Convention.

Class 11 student Gayatri Sharma said, “We are two sisters and both want to become chartered accountant. But our parents can’t bear our expenses as we belong to an underprivileged family. We have applied for education loans from the school, but on the name of formalities, our loan applications were rejected. We came here to meet the students who have got loans easily as the ministers are announcing from the stage.”

“I am doubtful that common people are getting loans without any recommendation from ministers and officers,” she added.

Not only are students finding difficulty in getting loans but women entrepreneurs are also facing the same problem.

A resident of Vidisha, Rehana Bi, 33, said, “There is a huge difference between chief minister’s claims of implementation of schemes and ground reality. From the stage, Shivraj Singh Chouhan was claiming that the state government provided loans to many entrepreneurs to start their business. But reality is totally different. I have been seeking for a loan for past few years and applied many times for the loan of Rs 1.5 lakh to start a sewing centre, but no one is entertaining my loan application.”

“I just came here to convey a message to the CM that if he really wants to help us, he should try to know the ground reality,” she added.

However in the convention, industry minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said from the stage that media are highlighting the difficulties in getting education loans. “But for the first time, I have seen banks working so fast in providing loans to the students,” he added.
