International shooter Varsha Varman has scored the highest point in double-trap shooting event in Incheon Asian Games 2014 and found a place in the list of record-holders on the basis of that score.
International shooter Varsha Varman has scored the highest point in double-trap shooting, according to a list of record holders released by the International Shooting Sports Federation, she is the lone shooter from India to have set a record.

Varsha, 19,has scored 89 points in the women’s double-trap shooting event in Incheon Asian Games 2014 and found a place in the list of record-holders on the basis of that score. She had won a bronze medal in the double-trap team event in the Incheon Asian Games.
Talking to HT, Varsha said, "I’m happy that I have set a record in the double-trap event. I would try to improve my score to remain in this position." After registering her name in double-trap, Varsha is trying to set a record in the trap event.
She said, "Winning a medal in Olympics is the aim of every sportsperson and unfortunately women’s double-trap event is not part of Olympics. I don't want to make any excuse for not getting a chance in participating in Olympics so I am focusing more on trap event to find a place in Indian team for Rio Olympics, 2016."
After she won bronze medal in Incheon, the MP government has announced scholarship of `50 lakh for her training. "By giving scholarship, the state government has shown its trust on me so I would try to give my best to win a medal in Olympics," she added.
