NRHM fraud case: Accused’s death prima facie a murder, says CBI

Dr Sachan was the key accused in the fraud and also a key suspect in the murders of two chief medical officers (CMOs), Dr Vinod Kumar Arya and his successor Dr BP Singh, in a similar manner.

Goraknath temple attack: STF, IB visit accused’s house in Navi Mumbai

On Tuesday, the IB visited Taj Heights Apartment in sector 50 in Seawoods Darave, also in Navi Mumbai, which was purchased by Abbasi’s father, the officials added. NRI Coastal police (local) also visited the flat and collected CCTV footage of the last few days.

The accused’s father on Monday said his son is mentally not stable and had no plan to commit any offence.

Police begin Probe as fresh video surfaces

The development came on a day a new video surfaced and was put out by Opposition politicians. The farmers blame Union minister of state for home Ajay Kumar Mishra Teni and his son Ashish, who deny the charges.

Kanwar controversy: In UP, apprehension over yatra go-ahead

The yatra -- where Shiva devotees fetch water from the Ganga to their village shrines – will begin from July 25 despite Uttarakhand, which hosts the yatra’s destination, Haridwar, scrapping the event over fears of a surge in Covid infections.

Uttar Pradesh ADG suspended after interview row

The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday confirmed the suspension of a 1992-batch Indian Police Service officer of Additional Director General rank, Jasvir Singh, for bemoaning the death of his career for taking on politicians, in an interview to the Huffington Post.
