BMC to install tree tubs with wheels to prevent uprooting of plants in Mumbai

As part of the plan, the BMC will be placing these tubs on various footpaths and public open spaces, likewise to the existing tree basins that we see on the footpaths

BMC makes it mandatory for shops to use signboards in Marathi

n the circular, the BMC also stated that any shops or establishments that sell or supply alcohol or liquor should not be named after an eminent personality or forts of Maharashtra and in terms of violation of rules, the owner of these establishments will be prosecuted

Property tax collection in Mumbai up by nearly 10% in FY 2021-22

BMC aims to recover property tax worth 200 cr in 2 days as fiscal year draws to end

BMC attempts to cut water supply to Metro

Even as the dispute between the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL) continues over property tax, personnel from the civic body on Thursday visited multiple properties of the MMOPL in Andheri (W) including DN Nagar Metro Station to cut the water supply for non-payment of property taxes since 2013

Earlier on March 11, the BMC had attached 16 properties of MMOPL that included six metro stations in the K/East (Andheri East) and K/West (Andheri West) wards. (AFP)

BMC attaches 16 properties of Mumbai metro for non-payment of property taxes

According to BMC data, MMOPL owes ₹300.76 crore worth of property tax including penalties to the BMC since 2013, out of which ₹220.30 crore are to be paid to K/W ward and ₹80.46 crores are to be paid to K/E ward.

The valuation of these 16 properties in terms of outstanding property tax amount is <span class='webrupee'>₹</span>142.18 crore.
