In Delhi’s night shelters, a silent initiative to identify, help HIV patients

HIV/AIDS: Counselling sessions are being organised at the shelters in which the occupants are convinced to undergo tests and if found positive, they will be taken for treatment.

The drive was started two weeks ago and nine sessions have been held so far in which around 390 homeless persons were counselled.

Campaign expenditure cap may be hiked for Delhi civic body polls

The election commission had increased the expenditure ceiling to Rs 4 lakh during the last civic polls in 2012, up from the earlier cap of Rs 1.5 lakh for each candidate.

Post delimitation, battle lines drawn ahead of civic polls

The state election commission has ensured that boundaries of all wards remain within their assembly constituency limit. An unauthorised colony or slum cluster has been kept within a ward so that there is no distinction thereof between wards.

The move, sources said, was the first step in trying to woo voters and preparing the ground for municipal elections due next year. This exercise is also being touted as the first step towards preparation of an election manifesto.
