Old, unfulfilled promises in BJP’s poll agenda for MCD polls

In 2012, the BJP had promised to construct 100 multilevel parking lots. However, in the past five years, only three such sites -- at Hauz Khas, Kamla Nagar, Parade Ground and Model Town -- have come up. These, too, remain under-utilised as people prefer surface parking.

MCD elections: BJP loses candidate in 4 wards; 1 Cong, 4 JDU nominations also rejected

The papers of back-up candidates were also cancelled in four wards--East Vinod Nagar, Kishanganj, Abul Fazal Enclave, and Bapraula, which means the party will have no official contestants on at least four of the 272 municipal seats. A senior BJP leader said the party may now support independent contestants on these seats.
