13 out of 20 pvt school buses found violating safety norms in Kapurthala

Despite repeated warnings, the local administration under Safe School Vahan scheme has found instances of violation of basic safety norms. The administration made the discovery while inspecting school buses in the district during last ten days.

Punjab polls: CM Badal gets EC notice for ‘provocative’ speech against AAP

Chief minister Parkash Singh Badal was issued a notice by the returning officer (RO) for violation of the poll code in Sultanpur Lodhi on Tuesday for a “provocative” speech against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) at a January 20 rally.

251 polling booths marked ‘critical ’in Kapurthala: Electoral office

To stop the usage of drugs and money to lure voters in the run-up to Punjab assembly elections on February 4, the district electoral office has identified 251 polling booths as ‘critical’ ones. These booths have been classified as critical on the basis of survey and intelligence inputs.

Woman delivers stillborn on roadside in Jalandhar, husband cries ambulance delay

A woman delivered a premature stillborn baby on the road to a hospital, near Company Bagh here on Tuesday. She was stated to be in a serious condition later at the local government hospital. Her husband, an auto-rickshaw driver, alleged that his phone calls for an ambulance had gone unattended before they had left the house for the hospital.

After filing FIR against 7, cops unsure if sex test was conducted
