8 months on, UT Wakf Board panel yet to be reconstituted

Flouting the Wakf Amendment Rules, which say that any board of Wakf has to be constituted within six months, the Chandigarh Wakf Board committee has not been reconstituted, even after eight months have passed since expiration of its tenure.

Chandigarh: SCERT to assist education dept on academic front

In order to improve Class 9 results of city government schools which decline every year and to upgrade quality education in each class, the UT education department has planned to constitute committees which will help the department to analyse the cause of poor results and inspect teaching offered at primary levels.

UT education dept managing 230 special kids with fewer teachers

For as many as 230 bed-ridden special children who have opted for home-based education under the RTE Act, UT education department has been managing with 24 resource teachers, against the rule which says that one teacher should be available for every five ‘special’ students.
