The Congress Party is learnt to have decided to stake claim for formation of a government in Jammu and Kashmir without the support of People's Democratic Party (PDP). The decision was taken at a meeting of the senior Congress leaders chaired by party chief Sonia Gandhi at Delhi on Tuesday night. The party also authorised Sonia to make an announcement in this regard. The meeting was held after the deadlock continued over the Congress and PDP gunning for the Chief Minister's position.
