Consider this. You go to bed after a heavy meal and begin to dream. A woman wafts through it. She’s dark and slim. You are aroused.

Consider this. You go to bed after a heavy meal and begin to dream. A woman wafts through it. She’s dark and slim. You are aroused. And then suddenly, you get an attack of colic. As you wake up, what’s the first thing on your mind? Is it the woman or the plump bird you had with potatoes the night before?

The Wearable Art exhibition is so full of unexpected twists and turns that the fusion of women-animals- art suggests there is more in their union than meets the eye. With this new series, photographer Rohit Chawla continues to stun.

“The exhibition,” says Chawla, “is about taking art off the wall and adorning the human body. It is also a rebellion against the mundane world of conventional fashion photography. These images are about the collaborative pleasures of a designer and a photographer’s esoteric fancy in creating compelling and arresting visuals. It is best consumed with generous dollops of humour.” Couldn’t agree more.

On till April 5 at Exhibit 320, F-320, Lado Sarai, New Delhi; the exhibition then moves to Volte, Mumbai till April 26
