5 Tips to reduce snoring at night

Snoring is a condition that can disrupt your sleep. It can affect the quality of your sleep and lead to other health problems

Here are some ways through which you can reduce snoring when you sleep

Sleep on your side

Sleeping on your back can move your tongue back of your throat and block the airflow which can cause snoring. Whereas sleeping on your side can allow the air to flow easily through your throat

Use a thick pillow

Using a thick pillow to sleep ensures that your head is elevated when you sleep. It keeps your airways open and allows the air to pass through your throat without any disruption

Get enough sleep

It is important to get an adequate amount of sleep as sleep deprivation is one of the main causes of airway obstruction that leads to snoring

Use nasal strips

Nasal strips help reduce snoring by increasing the space in your nasal passage. They allow the air to pass through your nostrils without any disruption and make breathing easier when you sleep

Avoid alcohol consumption

Consumption of alcohol contributes to sleep related problems. It can cause relaxation of throat muscles and lead to problems like snoring and sleep apnea

It is important to get yourself checked by a doctor to see if there are any underlying problems
