Every year, Nobel prizes are conferred to individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the field of physics, physiology or medicine, chemistry, literature and economic sciences and worked towards attaining peace

The Nobel prizes are awarded in the memory of a Swedish chemist and the founder of Nobel Prize, Alfred Nobel. Here are the Nobel prize laureates of 2023

Nobel Prize in Physics

The Nobel Prize in Physics 2023 was jointly awarded to Pierre Agostini, Ferenc Krausz and Anne L’Huillier "for experimental methods that generate attosecond pulses of light for the study of electron dynamics in matter"

Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine

Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman were jointly conferred with this award “for their discoveries concerning nucleoside base modifications that enabled the development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19”

Nobel Prize in Chemistry

The Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to Moungi G. Bawendi, Louis E. Brus and Alexei I. Ekimov “for the discovery and synthesis of quantum dots” 

Nobel Prize in Literature

Jon Fosse was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature 2023 "for his innovative plays and prose which give voice to the unsayable”

Nobel Peace Prize

Narges Mohammadi has been conferred with the Nobel Peace Prize “for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and her fight to promote human rights and freedom for all”

Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences

Claudia Goldin was awarded the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences “for having advanced our understanding of women’s labour market outcomes”
