World's most isolated settlements you won’t believe exist

Some people live in the most remote places on Earth.

According to Geographical, here are five of the most isolated settlements.

The Pitcairn Islands are home to just 50 people, making them the least populated on this list.

Pitcairn Islands, Southern Pacific Ocean (50 people)

Also called ‘Desolation Island’, this remote land is home to scientists who study ecology, geology, and weather.

Kerguelen Islands, Southern Indian Ocean (50-100 people)

This small Chilean village has only 14 homes and one hotel with 20 rooms.

Villa Las Estrellas, Antarctica (100 people)

This island is 2,810 km from Cape Town. It only gets about twelve ship visits per year.

Tristan da Cunha, South Atlantic Ocean (264 people)

The town is surrounded by wilderness, with its neighbours including the largest national park in the world and the fjord system Scoresby Sound.

Ittoqqortoormiit, Greenland (450 people)

These places may be far from the world, but they have their own unique charm.
